Overview

Technical Scope
- Assessment/Pre-design: Evaluated all existing cooling-system components to maximize efficiency and reduce energy and water use.
- Mechanical: Demolished the 375-ton McQuay centrifugal chiller, condenser water pump and chilled water pump. New magnetic-bearing chiller on R-134a, water-cooled by three rooftop fiberglass AEC cooling towers.
- Controls: New chiller connected to the existing building automation system.
- Construction: Design, demolition and construction by Prime, with QC and communication plans for the occupied building.
Outcome
Design and construction completed in 2020.
